Where the money goes
Asgard is an all-volunteer rescue. Nobody here draws a salary, and we do not rent a facility. That means the overwhelming majority of every dollar goes directly to dog care:
- Veterinary care — intake exams, vaccines, spay/neuter, dental work, bloodwork, and the surgeries that shelters cannot afford to authorize
- Medication — pain management, heart and thyroid medication, and the long-term prescriptions senior dogs usually need
- Foster support — food, crates, beds, and supplies, so that fostering never costs a foster money
- Training and behavior — professional help when a dog needs it to be successfully placed
The remainder covers unglamorous necessities: insurance, state filing fees, and this website.
About your tax deduction
Asgard Rescue Collective has applied to the IRS for recognition of exemption under section 501(c)(3). That application is currently pending.
If the IRS approves our application, recognition is generally retroactive to our date of formation, which would make gifts you make now tax-deductible as of that date. We cannot guarantee approval, and nothing here is tax advice — please check with your own tax advisor if the deduction matters to your giving.
